Support Education & Immigration Inc. (SEI) – Programs

Come to College with Me Program

• This flagship program focuses on encouraging high school students—especially immigrants—to pursue higher education.
Components:
• High School Visits & Workshops: Why College is Important, How to Find Resources in College, Let’s Talk About College Concerns, How to Manage Finances in College, Understanding College Tuition, The Importance of College Libraries, Honors College Programs, Immigrant Advocacy and Rights.
• College Support for Immigrant Students: Members of SEI (immigrant college students) receive gift cards for educational books. Merit recognition is emailed to active SEI members.

Kits Program

• SEI distributes educational and personal care kits to high school students six times a year.
• Kit Contents: Educational materials (notebooks, pens, calendars, etc.), Body wash, Toothpaste and toothbrush, SEI workshop booklet, Access to food pantry support (if needed).

SEI Workshops

• A range of skill-building workshops for youth and immigrants: Building Confidence, Mental Health Awareness, How to Find a Job.

Scholarship Program

• SEI connects 12th-grade high school immigrant students with scholarship opportunities through partnerships with various organizations.

My Children’s Future Matters Program

• Designed for immigrant parents, this program emphasizes the importance of education for their children.
• Activities: One-on-one conversations with parents, Large-scale educational events for parents on college access.

SEI New Light School Program

• Provides hands-on guidance for high school and college application processes, working directly with parents and students.

SEI Mentorship Circle

• Pairs high school students with university mentors from institutions like Purdue University, IU Indianapolis, and Ivy Tech Community College.

Tutoring Program

• Subjects Covered: Math and Writing. Focus on helping immigrant students and those preparing for exams.

ESOL Program (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

• Supports adults and high school students in improving English proficiency.

SEI Career Readiness Program

• Prepares immigrants and students for professional success by offering: Resume development, Interview preparation, Workplace professionalism, Writing professional emails, Dressing for success, Finding internships.

SEI Youth Ambassador Program

• A leadership program for U.S. citizen students, international students, and immigrant students.
• Participants include: High School Ambassadors (Grades 10–12), College Ambassadors (sophomores, juniors, seniors).

ESOL Program (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

• Supports adults and high school students in improving English proficiency.

Empowers young immigrants to rise above challenges and embrace their unique journey. This scholarship helps develop leadership skills and community engagement.

**Amount:** $2,000

Created for students who belong in the classroom and deserve the opportunity to achieve academic success. The mission is to fight for access to college, inspire lifelong learning, and support students in transferring to higher education.

**Amount:** $2,500

Supports immigrant students in continuing higher education by providing financial assistance and encouragement to excel academically.
